We join Dirk Liberty, a grown man who decided one day to become a superhero, and his nephew Jimmy, who has taken it upon himself to act as sidekick, as they go undercover at a radio repair shop downtown in their as-of-yet-to-be-named city of origin.

Why no one came up with a name by this point is beyond me, considering it's not really that hard to come up with a generic name for an American city, but I suppose perhaps the author didn't want to set it in any specific large American city, or maybe he simply got distracted with raging alcoholism. I don't know, don't ask me, I'm just the narrator.

Either way, Dirk and Jimmy, in their superhero identities of Skybird and Air-boy respectively, have gone undercover as two entirely different other people who have retained jobs at a radio repair shop for some reason or another.

I'm also a touch confused about why no one questions a twelve-year old boy working at a radio repair shop, but I suppose perhaps he is merely acting as an apprentice or doing odd jobs... Like a summer job or a paper route. Okay yes, I guess that makes sense.

Dirk, posing as a radio repairman, and Jimmy, posing as a youthful apprentice in hopes of obtaining some pocket change to spend on things like bubblegum and soda pop, have gone deep undercover at Friedman's Radio Repair Shop in hopes of maybe catching a criminal? ... I'm still not quite entirely sure... Oh well, I'm sure it doesn't matter.
