"Dumbledore trusts him." - Remus Lupin

"I'm telling you, Snape was jinxing the broom!" Ron insisted. We were returning to the castle with Hagrid.

"Nonsense! Why would Snape try an' kill Harry?" Hagrid's was unconvinced.

"It's true. I know a spell when I see one. I've read all about them. You've got to keep eye contact and Snape wasn't blinking." Hermione added.

"I disagree." Ron and Hermione turned to look at me as if I had three heads. "Before you say I'm defending him because he raised me, let me tell you something I noticed." Hermione now looked at me with interest. I took a deep breath. "Did you see him muttering something?" Hermione nodded at this. "Occasionally I sneak into Professor Snape's collection of books, and if I recall correctly, he was muttering a counter-curse. I don't remember exactly, but I highly doubt it was a curse."

"Didn't you see Harry's broom stop shaking when Hermione set his robes on fire? How can you be on his side?!" Ron shouted at me.

"What good would I get from lying? Do you think I'd help him instead of the only family I have left?!" I screamed back at him.

Hagrid shook his head unconvinced. "Enough, yer two. Cindy wouldn't try to hurt Harry." Ron scoffed. I glared at him. "Why would Snape try an' kill Harry?"

"Who knows, why'd he try to get pass that three-headed dog?" Harry spoke.

"Who told you about Fluffy?" Hagrid looked at us suspiciously.

"Fluffy?"

"That thing has a name?"

"Course he's got a name, he's mine. I bought him off an Irish feller I met down in the pub last year. Then I lent him to Dumbledore to guard the-"

"Yes?" Harry said excitedly.

"I shouldn't ta said that. No more questions! Don't ask any more questions. That's top secret, that is."

"But whatever Fluffy's guarding, Snape's trying to steal it!" Harry protested.

"Actually, I think he didn't, but he knows who did." I said.

"What?" All three of them turned to me.

"Y'see the other day I was following him, you remember when we saw him walk off with Professor Quirrell?" They nodded. "Well the two of them were in some sort of argument, couldn't really hear clearly. I directly questioned him about the troll-" they gaped at me. "Obviously I didn't mention the dog," I added hastily upon seeing their expressions. "Well anyways, what he said to me was that he didn't do it, but not to worry about who did."

"Sounds suspicious, how d'you know he's telling the truth?" Ron questioned.

"I think he is, just not the whole truth. In all honesty, Though I don't think he did it, he probably knew who did." I confessed.

Hermione looked deep in thought. "Could he have helped whoever did it?"

"Well," I said, "I won't answer that as I have no idea, but I really don't think he had anything to do with it directly."

"Yeah, that's probably it! He planned it, and got someone to do the dirty work for him! Maybe he wanted Quirrell to do it, but he messed up which is why they were arguing!" Ron exclaimed.

"Uh, once again, no comment. But he's rather independent, if he wanted something done, he would've done it himself." I added.

"How-"

"Now you listen ter me, all four of ye," Hagrid cut in, "yer meddlin' in things that ought not ter be meddled in! It's dangerous, what that dog is guarding is strictly between Prof. Dumbledore and Nicolas Flamel!"

"Nicolas Flamel?" Harry questioned.

"Hagrid's eyes widened. "I shouldn't have said that. I should not have said that. I shouldn't have said that..." He walked away from us.

"Who's Nicolas Flamel?" We all shook our heads at each other.

"No idea." Hermione muttered.
