I look to the skies, fear reflecting in my eyes.

There's no where to hide from the things I despise.

Storm clouds approach, and sunlight recedes.

My perfect world tears, rips open, and bleeds.

I can hear it in the distance, and the sound makes me feel small.

If I listen closely, I can hear mother nature's call.

She warns anyone who'll listen, "Rain will fall."

...............................................................................

Her words ring in my ears, and settle in my heart.

A truth so elemental, it threatens to tear my sanity apart.

I can't stop the rain, so why should I try?

After-all, even the heavens have the right to cry.

Some things are uncontrollable, and that is part of their appeal.

They make every moment all the more real.

.................................................................................

I look to the future. I learn from the past.

My wounds begin to heal, soon I'll remove the cast.

The sky is still darkened, the wind still howls.

My enemies are far from destroyed, they are still on the prowl.

Yet my spirits are lifted, and I stand tall. The unavoidable truth is, rain will fall.
