I told you
You are special
Treasured deep
In my heart
Good friends
That’s what we are
It never crossed my mind
We could be more than that
Many times
I told you
My friend
I do love you
I expected
You wouldn’t take that
Anything more
Than brotherly love
But I was wrong
From the very start
You offered friendship
To make me fall in love
I’m very sorry
For breaking your heart
Thank you, my friend
For loving me so much
If only
I feel the same
No need to profess your love
Again and again
I don’t want
To lose
A friend
As amazing as you
I want to keep you
But I need to let go
I know, staying beside me
Would hurt you even more.
Note: This one is non-fiction like the first poem in this series.
