It was dark, roughly around 8:00 P.M. A teenage boy had his hood up and was browsing the non Dust section in a mostly Dust selling store. He had a grey hood and cloak on while humming something  unknown to anyone but him.

The alarm went ringing and the teen turned his head and saw a group of local goons but he turned away from them cause he had a plan.

"Hand over all the dust ya got and no one gets hurt." A goon says pointing a gun at the teen's head

"Hm?" the teen says. "Are you trying to rob me?" he added as he turned his head to the goon showing his mostly black hair and grey eyes

This teen was Shad Xan. The focus of this story's chapter.

"Yeah, now hand over your dust." the goon said putting his finger on his gun's trigger

"OOOOOHHH....." Shad said

OUTSIDE THE DUST STORE

Right outside the Dust store, a man in his 20s was minding his own business when a couple of goons come flying through the window breaking it. Shad is then seen chasing the goons out the door. He then turns back to the shop owner.

"I'll pay for this damage, sir. Sorry it had to happen to your store, though." Shad before pulling out the guns he had as weapons and followed the goons

He as chasing them on a bike for what felt like hours. It wasn't until he rounded a corner he realized he lost the goons. He sighed.

"Well, I chased them off before they could really stole anything of high value luckily." Shad said as he steered his bike back to Vale.

He started humming while heading back for Vale. His scroll started ringing and he answered.

'Hello?" Shad said

"Hey, son, there's somebody here who wants to tell you something related to your application to Beacon." Shad's father said from the other side of the conversation

"I'm on my way, dad." Shad said just before he hung up and took off for his house

It was almost midnight when he got back. He parked his motorcycle in his family's shack that was bought for storing his motorcycle.

"Now, to see the final verdict on the thing on if I get accepted into Beacon..." Shad said as he covered his motorcycle with a tarp

Shad walked in and hung his motorcycle helmet and jacket next to the door. He stretched before setting his guns in the case he would usually set them in after getting home from a long day away from the house and too tired to store them in his room and stretched.

"That was a long day....I feel like I can fall right asleep the moment I lay down...." Shad thought in his head as he headed for the living room

He could hear the familiar sound of a tune his mother would play on the piano. Something she hadn't played since she herself was given a visit by the current Headmaster of Beacon Academy, Ozpin around the time he applied for going to Beacon. So he had a sneaking suspicion as to why she was playing this tune on her piano. He stepped into the living room and saw none other than Ozpin sitting in a chair seeming to talk to his father as he sat down on the couch and took a sip from the cup of tea that was set there for him to drink. It was made just the way he liked it. Hot but not extremely hot, and two sugar cubes were put in.Just the way he liked it. Even though he preferred coffee more, he still enjoyed tea.

"So, Mr. Xan, from what I understand, you applied for enrollment in Beacon Academy in order to avenge the death of your uncle?"Ozpin asked

"That is correct, sir. No one should ever have to go through the fate he did. I prefer not to talk about it to many people even if I can trust them." Shad answered

"I understand." Ozpin replied

As Shad took another sip from his cup of tea and sat his tea down, he thought to himself, "I just really would like to get accepted. It is a dream of mine.." Ozpin then set the cup of coffee he had on him on the table next to the chair he was in.

"About your application, it got accepted.First day at Beacon is in a few days. I wanted to inform you in advance so you would have time to prepare yourself and gather what you need." Ozpin said

Shad went silent. He didn't immediately know how to respond. One o his dreams has been accomplished. He got accepted into Beacon. After a few seconds he had gotten a response ready.

"Thank you for accepting me, sir. I will do my best to make you not regret accepting me into your school." Shad said shaking Ozpin's hand

"I'm sure that will be the case." Ozpin said before going to leave

After Ozpin left, Shad went up to his room to get some sleep. He was then gonna get things prepared for his trip to Beacon in the morning.
