Ruby Rose in Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins

Chapter 2

The bus was at the bus stop at the end of a road. The doors opened and the students got on. A teenage girl with a striped shirt who was on her scroll as she got on the bus,and a couple of jocks. The door the shut and the bus went to leave

'Wait for us!" a teenage male voice called

The bus driver rolled his eyes as Shaggy and an older Ruby, roughly a year or so younger than Shaggy. The bus door opened and ended up hitting Shaggy in the face.

'Like, sorry. It's won't happen again." Shaggy said as him and Ruby got on the bus

They were heading for the one empty seat on the bus. However, a jock, one who tends to trip Shaggy stuck his foot out and this time, tripped Ruby.

"Have a nice TRIP, Ruby?" the bully asked in a joking manner

"You are so lucky Yang isn't here." Ruby said in response after getting up and sitting in the one open seat

"Come on, dude." the teen sitting next to the bully, named Fred Jones(as in the one next to the bully was Fred.), said in disappointment

"Let's just try to make itto school and get through the day." Ruby said as she sat down

Later,the school bus had arrived,as everyone got up and left the bus,the bully, who for simplicity's sake, we'll just call Ben, tripped Shaggy but Ruby caught him by the back of his shirt.

"It's just so easy." Ben said to Fred

IN THE SCHOOL

In Coolsville High, Shaggy and Ruby were at Shaggy's locker just trying to get the thing open. Shaggy keeps getting the jittery locker every single year he has school

"Let me have a shot." Ruby says

Shaggy lets go and ends up stumbling backwards getting himself stuck in the janitor's rolling bin as it rolled down the hallway and he was screaming a little. Ruby sighed and went after him.

"I hate this job." the janitor said

Ruby ran past the janitor noticing the bin was getting close to the principle's office. 

"I never wanted to be a janitor." the janitor added

After a solid minute, the trash can came to a stop and Shaggy went flying into a chair at the principal's desk. After Ruby caught up, she caught her breath and sat next to Shaggy.

"Locker problems again, Mr. Rogers?" the principal, Mr. Deedle, asked

"Yeah, Ilike, get the jittery one every year." Shaggy said

"In my honest opinion, Principle Deedle, you should really have those lockers checked every year at the start of school." Ruby decided to pint out

Principle Deedle set his pencil down and put his hands together and said, "I like to think I am pretty plugged in here at the 'C.H' and if we're keeping it real, I can't help but notice you two having a hard time making friends here." Deedle said mostly to Shaggy aware of Ruby's caring family

"Say what now?" Shaggy said sounding confused about what the principle means

"Friends, Mr. Rogers. Other than Mrs. Rose here and her sister and your dog, do you have any?" Deedle clarifies

"Oh, yeah, I got tons of them. They're always inviting me to parties, events, hanging out, going to the park and-" Shaggy said trying to make it look like he has other friends when he doesn't and tries to divert the subject by saying, "Hey, is that a new tie?" 

"Right, now believe it or not, when I was your age, I had a hard time connecting with people, too." Deedle admits

Shaggy and Ruby are both very doubtful of the principle. 

"But you know what helped me? Philately." Deedle said

"Bless you." Ruby and Shaggy said in unison

"No, Philately. Stamp collecting. Oh, I know what you're thinking, Dweev city, huh?" Principle Deedle said

Shaggy kinda nodded his head but Ruby was actually interested in Philately since she knows some stamps are rare and can be fun to find.

"But I have to tell you, it is more like THRILL city! I'm particularly excited about my latest find, the one-eyed Jack." Deedle said as he handed Ruby and Shaggy a stamp collection and magnifying glass

They took a quick glance and saw that it was indeed a stamp with a Jack rabbit but only one eye.

"Now, if you look closely, you'll notice that the jack rabbit has only one eye. It's a mis-print! Those are the most valuable." Deedle says sounding a bit excited

"Hm, I feel like I have seen a mis-print like this before except it was an elk deer." Ruby says

The bell then rings as an indicator that class is gonna start soon.

"Norville, Ruby, I guess what i'm saying is....don't give up. You'll find more people that you fit in with. They may not be the exact way you hope, but i'm sure you'll find them. They may not know it themselves, but they're out there. Waiting to fit in with you, too. But until then....." Deedle said as he reached behind his back

What he pulled out was a book and he handed it to Shaggy.

In unison, Shaggy and Ruby said the title out loud reading, "Philately is Phun?"

"Thanks." Shaggy said as he held the book after it was given to him

Shaggy and Ruby stood up and went to leave after turning back to the principle.

"Hey, hey, right here, dogs." Deedle said holding up a fist for a fist bump and Ruby and Shaggy returned the fist bump. "That's what i'm talking about." he added

With that, Shaggy and Ruby left the office making sure to bring the trash bin with them on their way out
