for the first time
when your heart isn't borrowed
and mine hasn't been battered
when the timing never goes wrong
and we don't keep missing each other

when your love for me isn't a projection
and my attachment to you isn't a scream for attention

when you're right for me
and I'm imperfect but wholeheartedly yours
lets meet again
for the first time
at the corner of the street
a stone's throw away from our homes
lets bump into each other and marvel
how the most perfect being has crossed our paths
lets meet again
so we can see the red flags beforehand
lets meet again
so that this time
I can walk past you and not feel like
my heart is ripping out of my chest
lets meet again
for the first time
when i am not the hurricane that destroys your roots

when you are not the tsunami
that tears my home apart
