𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰. The Battle of Hogwarts had been the turning point for everything. With it, the wizarding world was engulfed by the selfish lick of combat's flame, and most were obstinately set on one side or the other. Three years later, the conflict was long gone but certainly not forgotten. For most, the mourning period had ended and they had begun a new chapter of their lives—one stripped of Voldemort and many loved ones but full of perseverant efforts to find new purpose.
This did not apply to Hermione Granger. She had been together with Ronald Weasley since the battle but lost the spark ages ago. Now, she placed not an ounce of blame upon Ron's shoulders. He was loving, caring, and sweet in every way possible. Hermione, on the other hand, tried to keep up with him, but felt that their kiss in the Chamber of Secrets was simply an impulsive act in the heat of passion. She fet purely platonically towards Ron, but didn't have it in herself to leave him.
In herself was yet another battle. Hermione struggled to find her self worth and often felt unnecessary and as though she was no longer relevant after leaving Hogwarts. Yes, the Ministry of Magic was her beloved occupation, but she yearned for that value and significance that she had in her childhood. Everything was monotonous repetition, and she wanted out.
