If only I could write you a haiku
To tell you why I’m so blue
Just waiting on the clock
Just trying to find you
So you can wrap yourself around me
Like warm cloths just out the dryer
Your touch just getting me higherLet’s take the kayak down to the river
Hold your hand as you shiver
The water can be so cold
But you and me are so gold
I’ll wrap around you like warm cloths from the dryer
My touch getting you higherIf only I could write you a haiku
To tell you why I’m so blue
Just waiting on youBut it’s my anixeity
Threatening our sobriety
It’s the simplest of words
The simplest of curves
And you turn
Try to burn me out
Like skin cancer
Won’t answer
Your phone. I’m ringing it of the hook nowI used to love how
Separated we were
The rarity when we came together
Made the high so much better
Now the distance is a masked killerYou think your so clever
The way you pull all my levers
I want you know
That I won’t ring you no more
Walk me to the door so we can say goodbye no moreBut it’s my anxiety
Threatening our sobriety
The simplest of words
The simplest of curvesYour a changeling
Trying to change me
But I’ll change you out
But I don’t want toIf only I could write you a haiku
To tell you how much I love you
