This piece is in dedication to DonnieD and her grandmother <3

Seven pounds and six ounces
Ten tiny toes and ten tiny fingers
The sweetest pair of lips
Pursed as you rest in my arms

Let's have a chitchat you and I
Want to share a few things with you

Do you have any idea
Any idea at all
How loved you are?
Just met you
Already love you to the moon and back
No matter what
Promise that I always will

You and I
Lieverd, we'll have some great times

Know that you can always come to me
With anything
Anything at all
I've been on this Earth quite a while
So trust that I have ample experience

If you have something to get off your chest
With my hearing aid in place I'll listen
If tears leave tracks upon your lovely face
With a soft handkerchief I'll wipe them away
If you desire a hug
With my arms I will hold you to my bosom
If you're in dire need of laughter
With my humor I'll tell you jokes--only clean ones (until you're 21)
If your stomach is growling
With my stove I'll prepare you a delicious meal
If you require extra funds
With my fingers I'll slip a few bills into your pocket

You and I
Ours will be a special relationship
And I'll admit
I have every intention of spoiling you rotten
Did I spoil your Mom?
Absolutely not
But you see, with you, lieverd, it's my right

Though I love and respect your parents
They don't know everything
Therefore, even if I'm not supposed to give you a cookie
I promise to always have sweets
Because in moderation they will not harm you

You and I
We will paint although I'm no Picasso
In fact, there's a wall in my house
That you may fill with your creations
Paint, crayons, markers
It's yours, lieverd
Go wild

You and I
Will don aprons
And I'll share my many recipes with you
By age five you'll be scrambling eggs
By thirteen I'll have you mastering rack of lamb

You and I
We'll spend holidays
Especially Christmas
I'll give you more presents than I should
Offer you my homemade eggnog--the virgin batch (until you're 21)
Take you caroling
And of course we'll build a gigantic snowman

You and I
We'll share copious adventures
Without passports we'll travel all over the world
Simply using our creativity and props
Now when you're older
We can truly visit the world
Although you'll probably prefer to go with friends
Or perhaps a significant other
Which I'll understand
Just take loads of pictures
And call me daily
Okay, every other day

You've just become my greatest love, you know?
I'm going to love you tomorrow more than today, you know?
In fact, I'm going to love you
Until the end of time
No matter where you and I might be
No matter how far apart
Know that I'm always with you
In your heart
And, mijn lieverd, you will always be in mine
Nothing
Nothing at all
Stands a chance of changing that

I love you, I love you, I do
It's my right and the utmost honor
As your oma
