NEVILLE!

Neville had been gone for a month because of his grandmas funeral. He needed time. He just needed time. He had been alone he had strolled back into Hogwarts with his usual smile and good attitude though he did find it odd to see Pansy Parkinson shoving mashed potatoes into Hermiones robes with Ron laughing hysterically and Harry and Draco standing closer than anticipated

"What an odd morning." Neville said and almost snorted in delight when when Harry and Draco almost hit the roof with a startled yelp

"Neville?" Harry asked rubbing his eyes and them immediately regretting it feeling the irritation in his contacts

"I'm back?" Neville smiled shrugging

"Hey I missed you!" Harry smiled ignoring his itchy eyes and giving Neville a strong hug

"Good to see you longbottom" Draco addressed as Astoria walked past them

"Dragon! Come on!" She said in a high pitched voice that made Harry want to gouge her eyes out of her face

"R-Right.Potter. Longbottom" Draco said in a very snobbish way he turned and wrapped an arm around Astorias shoulders. Harry fumed at the sight but shook it off

"Where have you been mate?" Harry asked wincing at the voice crack

"Oh right can I talk about it later?" Neville looked away and Harry knew the look in his eyes well

"Sure" he said reassuringly, leading the boy to the slytherdor table

"Stop this instant!" Mcgonigle spoke loudly causing all of the slytherdor tables to freeze even the ones that weren't doing anything

"How could you all act like children!" She scolded and Ron sniggred at them

"Something funny weasley?" Mcgonigle spoke sternly and Ron reverted back

"No ma'am" he said she nodded and sat back down and let the chatter of the hall get louder again the ravenpuffs were laughing at them but they didn't care. Once they had all settled down and pansy had helped clean all the mashed potatoes and gravy out of Hermiones shirt they began to talk about class and what they planned to do when they get out of Hogwarts. Harry sat quietly however sneering at Astoria who was latched onto Malfoy.

"Erm Harry?" Neville inquired spooking Harry out of his thoughts

"Yeah?" Harry answerd tearing his eyes away from the two

"I thought you and Malfoy were friends now. Why are you glaring at him?" Harry felt his heart thump in his chest as people began to turn to them expecting a yes or no

"Actually Malfoy and I dont speak. We're acquaintances" Harry backed up Neville nodded slowly almost sadly

"Oh."

"Not the answer you were expecting I guess" Harry smirked and Neville blushed

"Well, I thought you two were great together." He stated awkwardly eating his feelings away

"Neville to tell you the truth I don't even know if we really are" Harry smiled glancing at the two Malfoy sat quietly as Astorias friends spoke to him and he acted slightly interested

"What!?" Neville whisper yelled

"Harry I did not waste my childhood listening to you babble on about 'mafoys mercury eyes' and 'malfoys rosy cheeks against pale skin' for you guys not to get together!" Neville scrunched up his nose in distaste and Harry let out a breathy laugh

"I mean. Sorry about that. I did listen to your talks about dean so I dont think you're one to talk." Harry nudged the boy who frowned at Harry's cheeky responses

"But I mean look at him and Astoria. They look perfect together." Harry gulped down his jealousy as Neville arched his eyebrow

"No they dont." Never stated bluntly

"Huh?"

"They dont"

"How so?"

"Well for one. He looks uncomfortable. The girl is clingy. And they both look... I don't know how to explain it other than plastic" Neville confirmed staring at the two Harry seemed happy with this answer and thanked Neville who was confused as to why Harry was thanking him

"No problem mate" he said anyway going back to his food

"Greengrass!" Pansy smirked as she approached the girl

"Oh fuck off Parkinson! I know you're after my Malfoy but you dont have to be this desperate" she said snobbishly

"Oh?" Pansy held back a laugh and pulled the girl by the collar

"I know what you fucking did and if you don't admit it soon. I'll rip your damn organs out" pansy spat Astoria shook as Pansy dropped her to the floor

"Make a good choice darling" pansy called and walked away past a corner and then high fived Draco

"Thank you for shoving her geez she latches on like a god damn koala!" He laughed and leaned back onto Harry

"Koalas can give you chlamydia. I'm sure shes no different" Harry chimed. They all began to laugh at Harry's remark but all jumped when Neville approached them

"Hey guys!" He said happily

"Neville!" Harry jumped

"Harry?" He retorted

"Longbottom" Draco said stiffly

"Malfoy" Neville said a bit confused as to what was happening

"Longbottom" pansy said awkwardly

"Parkinson" Neville continued. They all stood in an awkward Mexican stand off untill Neville spoke up

"Hermione caught me up. At ease soldier" he said playfully they all visibly relaxed

"So that's why you were asking about Astoria huh?" Neville smiled and Harry winced glancing at Dracos glare

"Yeah." He said awkwardly

"I can help with a truth serum if you want!"

"Woah! Really?" Pansy cut in she and him began to discuss plants that would help out on their mission

"Harry you jealous prick" Draco whispered

"Merlin did you not expect me to be jealous?" Harry whisped back

"I did but I didn't think you were gonna be an ass about it" Draco whisper yelled and Harry sneered

"I dont know if you've noticed Draco but this isnt an ideal situation" he retored

"Yeah I get that but your job is to make sure she doesn't start making out with me!" Draco fought back

"I'm just saying you dont have to be jealous I'm all yours" Draco sighed and Harry mimicked him
