“Aaand…  Done.” Jordyn sat down the curling iron and put her hands on her hips. I was a bit hesitant when she told me she was going to curl my hair. I always straighten and tease it.

“Can I look, now?” I asked impatiently.

“Not yet. Go get dressed in my closet.” She ordered.

I mock saluted and walked into her closet. Her closet is HUGE. When I say huge, I mean the size of my old room. I carefully slipped into the dress. I straightened it out and slipped the jewelry on.

“Tadaaa!” I sang as I walked back into the room. I twirled dramatically.

“You look amazing!” She squealed.

“Can I look?”

She laughed and led me to her full body mirror. I gasped when I saw my reflection. My hair was done in loose curls that cascaded down my back. My makeup was simple, but flawless. My lips were covered in light pink lip-gloss. A light brown eye shadow was brushed across my upper lid. It looked amazing.

“Okay, you have to get shoes and go! It’s 6:56!”

I snapped out of my trance. Jordyn handed me a pair of sandles and I quickly slipped them on.

“Thank you so much!” I hugged her.

“No problem. Now, go!” She pushed me out of the room.

I took a deep breath and started to walk down the stairs. Even from the top, I could see Aaron standing in the living room with his hands in his pants pockets. He looked amazing in his faded jeans and blue button up shirt. I walked the rest of the way down the stairs. He looked up when I stepped on the creaky bottom step. A smile spread across his face.

“You look… amazing.” He told me.

I felt my face heat up. “Thank you.” I smiled back at him.

“So, are you ready to go?” He reached his hand towards mine. I placed my small hand in his large one.

          “Sure.” I replied.

We walked out of the door and got into his car.

“Are we there yet?” I asked for the fifth time.

“Actually, yes.” Aaron chuckled lightly and stopped the car.

We’d been driving for twenty minutes and he wouldn’t tell me where we were going. He hopped out of the car and walked over to my door.

“Ma’ Lady.” He mock bowed.

I laughed at his cheesiness before I got out of his car. We walked hand in hand down a grassy hill. At the bottom, there was the faint glow of a light. When we reached the bottom of the hill, I could tell what it was. In the middle of a field was a blanket. On the blanket sat a basket and a lantern. I smiled. He knows how much I love picnics.

We sat together on the soft blanket. He laughed slightly as he reached into the wooden basket. I laughed along with him when he pulled out the contents.

Pancakes.

I laughed harder, remembering the day I tackled him over pancakes.

“I still can’t believe you chased, tackled, and licked me over a plate of pancakes.” He said between fits of laughter.

We finished laughing and he handed me a plate of chocolate chip pancakes.

I grinned at him and took a bite.

“Oh my god. You’re the best!” I moaned.

He laughed. “Well, thanks!”

I ate slowly, savoring them.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Aaron’s fork creep slowly towards my plate. I waited until he was about an inch away from my plate.

“Hey, don’t mess with my pancakes!” I popped his hand playfully.

“Psshhtt… Me? Mess with your pancakes? Why would I do such a thing?!” He said innocently.

I giggled and scooped the last bite of off my plate. I led the fork towards his mouth. He raised his eyebrow. He opened his mouth hesitantly and I stuck the fork in his mouth.

“Did Leighton Reed just share her pancakes?” He said, semi-faking surprise.

I rolled my eyes, but smiled. I leaned in and pressed my lips against his. The usual butterflies filled up my stomach and tingles shot up my spine. It was just he and I. For once, I felt like I was loved.

A/N Well... First of all, I want to apologize for taking sooo long. I have so much going on at the moment. Second of all, I want to say thank you to everyone reading. I sent out a message last week, but incase you didn't read it, I'll copy and paste it below :

"I'm currently working on the next chapter. By the way, 'Leaving This Behind' has 447 READS! When I looked on Thursday, It had 402. I honestly never imagined  getting this far. I started LtB thinking it would just be something to do when  was bored. It never accured to me that people would actually like it and enjoy reading it. I just want to think everyone who is reading this for getting me this far. I love you all. I'm going to try my hardest to make this chapter amazing. <3 ~Mads"

And now, I have 457 reads. I really never imagined I'd even get 100 reads. Honestly, I figured I'd give up two chapters in. But here I am... So, please vote, comment, fan, whatever? I hope this chapter was kind of worth the wait?

Oh!
