Ellipses
before 'music'
and after 'love,'
you said. How perfect!
What better places
to fall short...
before music, to
void the mind of verbiage--
a pristine space
of wonder, worthy
of receiving
stark pure notes.
And after love...
how natural
to trail off slowly,
meandering in the
moment, letting fingers
trace silkily along
edges, smoothing...
skin still thrumming
and warm.
A tune is hummed
absently, the notes
hushed, beckoning.
Only a fool
would spoil this song
with words.
