so opportunity knocks
for new believers.

had gone; the light of the world
was spluttering too;

the raw deal Abram gave him -
difficult deserts.
So began the plan to move
into the vacuum,
fight, win, take over the world;
lions to kill lambs,
swords honed and sharpened;
new brooms sweep away old ruins,
but keep the wisdom,
despise no prophet;
drop the hint that no-one can
better Mohammed.
Hail the new Angel,
all Hail the eternal prophet! -
futile searching for greater.
Powerful Princes ensure
calm stability -
that which has been established
is claimed to be right;
Cathedrals turned into Mosques;
power and propaganda
established a truth.
