The alarms sounded all over the town, I was screaming and crying tears of fear. Fear that Better Living Industries was now taking over. There was no way to get out, unless you stopped eating.

See, they're wiping people's minds with food, but they didn't announce it. There's something they put in the food that starts to wipe your mind. If you don't eat (or run away, like the fabulous killjoys, but I'll get to them later) they'll capture you and inject the mind-wiping drug straight into you. I heard that hurts much worse.

So they'd been putting the chemical into the food for a few months now, my brother, John, who is 8 has already started to fade. I can see it. His blue eyes aren't... What they used to be. They're dull and grey.

So what happens is you eat the food, get brain washed, then after a few days of mindless-zombie actions, they come to neighbourhoods and take people by the hundreds.

So anyways, I could tell my brother was fading, my mother too, but my dad was fading slower. I didn't feel or look any different. Which was strange because I'd been eating as much as they have.

The day the sirens sounded was the day they took them away from me. That was the last day I saw my parents. I was crying because I knew what was coming. I wasn't ready. But zombies don't cry. And they knew that.

My parents walked out the door as soon as the vampire looking men came into the house. My brother followed suit. When I hid behind the couch, they laughed at me. They grabbed my by the arm and one of them spoke into a radio unit attached to his belt. "We've got a live one. Tell the boss." his rough, muffled voice came from under the mask.

I started kicking and screaming for them to let me go. I didn't know what was happening. I hated it. I didn't know what to do. One of them groaned and then hit me over the head with something heavy, everything went black.

I was in math class. The teacher was droning on about the Pythagorean theorem when the bell rang. I grabbed my book and went to my locker. I felt hands around my hips and looked up to see Mike, my boyfriend at the time. (He was brain washed too, so ex boyfriend now.) He had shaggy brown hair, and glasses, he was the really skinny but strong type. I grinned and kissed his cheek, to which he returned. He took my hand in his and walked me to my next class.
I remembered him slowly draining like the rest of my friends and family. It all happened so fast.

When I woke up, my arms were tied down. I tried opening my eyes but I shut them right away because the room was bright and White. My eyes adjusted and I opened them again. A small woman was next to me, her hair cut in a perfect Bob. "Hello Nicole." She said in a calm, robotic voice.
My arms were buckled to a chair, my legs too, and my chest was bound to the back of the chair.
"Wh-who are you?" I asked, my voice was rough. It sounded foreign to me.
"I am Jen, I am your helper. I am here to tell you that you will be joining the wonderful world of Better Living Industries." She said without blinking.
My eyes started filling with tears. I started screaming again, to get out and for them to let me out.
Jen ran the instant I started flailing about, in came two vampire masked men, who injected something into my arm, which made me fall asleep instantly.

When I woke up this time, there was two men speaking to one another. They weren't aware I was awake yet, so I just listened. The one facing away from me was dressed in all grey with puffy white sleeves at the end of his suit jacket. He was bald and wasn't wearing a mask. The other was a vampire looking man.
"She's not reacting to the injections, sir. I believe she's immune." The vampire man said.
"Well. We can let her go, and give her some hope, then kill her. Or we can just kill her now." The bald man said.
"I think we should just kill her now, Korse." The vampire said, no tone in his voice.
"Where's the fun in that? I say let her go. We'll look for her... In a week." Korse said.
The vampire nodded, and they both left.
Honestly, I was scared shitless. Where was I supposed to go?

The Fab Four don't even exist. They're stories to give kids a bit of hope. I'll explain their story now.
There's party poison, jet star, fun ghoul, and kobra kid. They're supposedly four guys that wear bright colours and fight the vampires. No ones Ever really seen them, I used to tell John stories about them. They help this litter curly haired girl named Grace. I'm not entirely sure why, But they do.
Anyways.
Jen came in the room again, and untied the buckles. She helped me stand, because I was weak. I don't know how long I'd been there.
She led me to a door, opened it, pushed me outside, and said, "Good luck." And then shut the door in my face.
I looked around where I was. It was total desert.

I just started walking. I was thinking about how I was immune. That didn't make any sense. My brother wasn't. Both my parents were sick. Why did I have to be different. Because God knows it got me no where good. Now I'm alone.

I kept walking until I came across what looked like a broken down mall. I was not in the right attire for California desert. I decided to do some shopping. I went into hot topic and got a black leather jacket, combat boots, a red tank top, a black bandana and grey jeans. I threw the jacket over my shoulder and I looked outside. It was already dark, so I decided to spend the night in the broken down mall. I found a mattress store and fell asleep on one of the beds.

I woke up to someone poking me with what felt like a stick. I turned, my eyes somewhat blurry. My eyes laid on a girl with short red hair, she wore a blue bandana around her mouth, and she had black combat boots on, similar to mine.
"Are you a drac or killjoy?" She asked, looking skeptical.
I looked up at her and swallowed. This was going to be hard to explain.
