I looked above me
And saw the sun
Glittering in the sky
Midday
I ran through the crowd
And heard my name being called
I threw my head back
And let out a snarl
I ran into the woods
And roared in menace
I ran to a cliff and hung there for a moment
Just for a moment
I felt myself floating on air
Felt the breeze in my face
Felt my mane fly away from my skin
In a quick pace
I let out a shout
And felt myself laughing inside
For the last time
For the very last time
I felt myself hit land
Heard a crack
On jagged rocks and stones
And noticed that it was just my bones
I felt blood dripping from my body
Onto the cool grey and mossy ground
I clawed my fingers desperately for anything tangible
And I sighed.
Rest in peace, I thought.
