Since the mechanics of the game are based around social interaction i was getting a bit annoyed that every time I went to eat near my clan all of the dumb apes would decide to eat. While this was a good thing because it meant i didn't have to individually force each member to eat it quickly produced an annoying issue... they were eating from the same source as me.
So i did some experimenting and discovered that if you create a stockpile of the food you're going to eat the other clan members are smart enough to realise that you claim that entire stockpile of food for yourself. As a result they will seek out other food nearby and you no longer have to hunt down a new plant or bush or spiderweb to continue eating.
