"Grandpa Hokage, Iruka sensei, no," Naruto whispered as he tossed and turned under his tattered blanket."Please," he breathed "please don't leave me ." Sweat mixed with his tears, ran down his scrunched up face. He let out an ear piercing scream, and shot up violently, nearly hitting the shelf above his bed. He let out a sigh." Just a dream," he reassured himself " just a dream... Right?" He gazed blankly at the night sky. 'Right?' he thought to himself, 'the only two people that showed the slightest bit of affection towards him would never leave him... Yeah, I'm sure'. He nodded absentmindedly, but in his dark blue eyes, they were clouded by doubt, false hope and a false sense of security. Wiping the sweat off his brow, he laid back in his bed and after counting several bullies, he dozed off into a deep slumber.
