So many things can kill the cat:
Grapes,
Mistletoe,
Lilies,
Curiosity—
These things so essential to our humanity.
I think our cats
(Since blessed with nine lives)
Must know that
Wine,
Kisses,
Devotion,
Mystery—
Must be taken as small pleasures
Lest they, in all their sweetness,
Poison us in kind.
