Chapter One - The Pain

There’s this saying that when a girl loses her virginity is when she becomes a true woman, Corinne had always found this ridiculous statement but as of today, she finally knew why this was said. She couldn’t help but hold a consistent smile that caste a gentle glow of radiant warmth around her, she could feel her fresh dose of confidence lacing it’s way through her body making it erasing the weight of her stress and insecurities with it as she stood tall down the corridor of her high school. The flow of emotions she was experiencing could only be summed up as pure happiness as everything in her life seemed to be going perfectly. She had excellent grades, friends that were loyal and wonderful as they came and of course, she had the perfect boyfriend. A sigh of content escaped her lips and a light blush came over her cheeks as her thoughts drifted to dazzling memories of her lovely boyfriend,

A scuff beside her brought her from her thoughts and she turned to her best friend Kelsey questioningly.

Kelsey was scowling at a group of so called preppy girls who stood in a huddle and laughed among themselves and muttered something about them being snobby brats.

Corinne smiled and shook her head. Since getting to know her boyfriend she had learned not to judge others based on appearance and in that moment, he came into view. Colton Hanes, also known as Prince Charming. The very thought of him sent her into a gentle swoon as he truly was everything she had ever wanted in a guy. He was smart, funny, charming and of course, dangerously attractive, being the school’s golden boy also helped as she had spent her life in the shadows and was now the envy of many. However, she was also the mockery. Colton had the distasteful reputation for being a player and using girls for his own personal gain, these rumors were quickly labeled as fictional by him of course which she was willing to accept as she knew he wasn’t so heartless. Corinne had never taken stereotypes as factual anyway, in this day and age no one person could truly only one group of interests but she had still found it to be a shock when the most athletic, charming and desired male in the area suddenly came to her confessing to a secret interest in her in which he wanted to make known. Only a month went by and they had shared everything with one another from their hopes and dreams to their fears and insecurities, it took no time at all for her to realize she had fallen head over heels for him and made the decision to truly share everything with him.

Kelsey excused herself suddenly saying she’d be waiting for her by the cafeteria and made her leave, shooting a piercing glare at Colton. Corinne shifted her thick, wide framed glasses on her nose and looked down as a light blush warmed her cheeks again as they approached Colton leaning against his locker talking to a friend. Her heart fluttered in her chest like a crazed bird as she examined the motions of his body through her lashes, the memory of his bare skin over his firm muscles against her own soft flesh sent her face into a wave of heat. Hearing her approach, Colton looked over his shoulder and his charmingly crooked smile spread across his face as he stretched his arm out to her, wrapping it firmly around her shoulders as she came to stand beside him. She placed her hand on his chest as she turned her face away from him to his friend who looked between the two before raising his eyebrow to Colton with a knowing yet questioning smirk. Colton responded to this was a smug smile and a nod of the head. The interaction between them was innocent enough but made Corinne tense with discomfort and she felt her insecurities creeping up to tighten her chest.

A kiss was suddenly placed on her forehead and she felt all the tense melt away.

“So how are you today, babe,” Colton asked in his careless, deep tone.
