Della Duck didn't think of the possible consequences of leaving her unhatched eggs. Nor did she think of the pain she'd cause to her 3 yr old daughter. Donald takes the triplets in a fit of emotions, but doesn't think to take his only niece. Left alone with her Uncle Scrooge, she finds comfort in the one person that she knows won't leave her.
Raising a 3 yr with severe abandonment issues was the most difficult adventure Scrooge McDuck has faced. He quickly realized that he could no longer grieve for his oldest niece, and that he had to be the rock for his youngest. After being forced to give up searching for Della, he devotes all his time & affection to his youngest. He wanted to be the best father, and he tried his hardest to make her happy.
Elliot Duck is a little girl with a smile brighter than the sun, and sadly that sun is gonna leave someday.
