Emma talks a lotI don't think she really cares whether you listen or notand for the first time in a long time, I couldn't think of a single thing to say because I didn't know how to open up to her like she had to me. She talks like she has known me for years. She told me about her mom today, and how her dad walked out on them when she was nine, and how she hasn't eaten anything more than a handful of grapes in two days.

I learned that she was much different compared with everyone else that I knew. She spoke softly, but with a firm enough tone to make you listen, and she pronounced every single word the way it's supposed to be pronounced. I learned that Emma has a different outlook on most things, and she isn't afraid to defend her beliefs. Most people learn that water is blue because blue light molecules scatter and absorb more easily than other colors, but Emma would still argue that water is blue because it's a reflection of the sky, because that's what she believes. I learned that her favorite color is green.

I learned that I'm not as angry when she's around. I don't think I'm going to tell her that.
