Hey all. I decided to post this again as its own seperate work so that I could enter it in the Attys. It was originally posted in Fallen Angel, A Book Of Poems. Ya'll should check it out! The poems tell a story when read on order, however I couldnt enter them into the Attys because they are all the same basic poetic style.

-----

In the darkness, the fallen angel crys

And sitting on his knees, the fallen angel tries,

To keep the blade away.

Outside, the people walk the mile,

And outside, the people never smile

In the coldness of the day.

In his canvas cave, the fallen angel hides.

Through the crowds, the fallen angel glides,

And no one ever smiles

Looking down, the fallen angel passes,

Through the crowded halls, in between his classes,

And no one ever smiles

Broken hymns playing in his ears,

Sitting by himself, no one ever hears,

Him when he is alone.

And no one ever smiles.

In the darkness, the fallen angel crys,

And sitting on his knees he tries,

But he can't keep the blade away.

The red runs down his wrists,

As his hands are clenched in fists.

The feeling is so vile,

But no one ever smiles.
