Tessa is a down to earth person, with high expectations of herself. She was raised by a single mother after her dad abandoned them when she was 12 years old. Her dad was in and out of her life but he never returned after her 12th birthday. She had baby Aaliyah when she was 16. Her boyfriend at the time pressured her to go to a party, he gave her some drinks and spiked them leading to them having sex and her getting pregnant.

Aaliyah is a super bubbly baby. She never gave her mother Tessa problems raising her. She isn't the ordinary 2 year old though, she's surprisingly really smart for her age which she got from her mom.

Devine is the type of person to play around with girls and leave them stranded after a while. He never takes a relationship seriously because he thinks it's a waste of time. He dated Tessa for a year before getting her pregnant. Once he found out he left for the rest of her pregnancy and came back a few days after she gave birth to Aaliyah. After that he was exactly like Tessa's father, in and out of their life's until Aaliyah turned one. Then he never showed up again.

Jabez isn't like what other people portray him to be. They say he's a guy who sleeps around with girls and is just over all your local popular boy. But he's actually humble and cares more for others than they think he does. He went to the same school as Tessa until he graduated. He went on tour over the summer and decided he wanted to help tutor some people at his old high school now that school started back up.

Gaby isn't your regular high school teen. She's more weirder and spiritually crazy than you think. Tessa's smartness and Gaby's weirdness is what makes them such great friends. After Tessa got pregnant she lost a lot of friends but Gaby is always there to help out with the baby and to help Tessa have her high school experience despite being a young mother.
