After that night, Iris and Ezra met every single one after it; same bat-time, same bat channel. They talked about everything and nothing, whether it rained or snowed. Little by little they removed the burdens that oppressed them, a sense of relief displacing the pressure.

Everything was looking up for them, Ezra didn't need to rely on cigarettes and Iris had finally taken the reins of her life back into her hands. When attacked by his darker entity, Ezra could simply call Iris or send her a quick text, to which she would almost immediately answer and they could easily spend hours talking to each other through their phones to then meet up at the beach to just enjoy each other's presence and meticulously take away the screws and bolts which secured the other's armours.

Everything was going well, until it wasn't.
