[age 15]

She looked so pretty today. Sitting under the tree, on the browned autumn leaves scattered like confetti. I wish I had my camera with me. I wish I could capture this moment in a polaroid.

Today, I feel like a sparkler.

Like I'm burning, burning, burning. Leaving silver trailers in the velvet night air.

I'm burning with love for Lavender but you can't burn forever. Not without someone else to replenish you and light another sparkler.

But Lavender isn't standing there with matches in her hand. She doesn't seem to notice that I'm burning for her.  And my sparkler?

It's starting to run out.
