 It was the era of the Edwardian War. The Period was marked after the starling Victories of Edward III of England and his son, the Black Prince of the French, at the battles of Crecy and Poitier's. In the latter fight, John II of France was captured. Shortly after, France came close to complete descent into anarchy and civil war. As a result, France was forced to sign a humiliating peace treaty. The war cost them twenty-three years of bloodshed from men, women, and even children from both sides.
