it was the first day of school tomorrow and i was so not ready. "california state high" was the name of this hell hole that i was terrified to step foot into.
i was rummaging through my clothes when i found a necklace stuck in one of my shirts. it's the one my dad gave me before he died, i looked for it everywhere for years, it's silly that it ended up there. i put it on and headed down stairs for dinner.
i got halfway down the steps when i heard screaming from my mother and sister. (i lived with my 19 yr old sister and my mom.) i didn't want to get involved so i started to walk back to my room when i heard my mom;
"where are you going missy" she asked
"nowhere" you said brushing it off
"i'm starving, what's cooking" brooklyn asked (your sister)
mom grabs a box off the counter and sets it on the table. "pizza" "homemade pizza" she says with a cheesy smile.
ever since dad died , mom never came around to cooking anymore. and if i was being completely honest i miss her terrible cooking.
"so y/n are you exited for your first day tomorrow" mom asks
"not really" you say
"well just so you know high school is gonna suck" brooklyn exclaims
"how fun" you sarcastically say
after dinner you clean up the dishes, head
to your room and get your clothes picked out for your first day of school;
