Chapter 8

Despite all the excitement of the homecoming dance, it wasn't enough for Percy
He was just standing listening to Hazel talk about every couple
He saw Kurt and Blaine dancing and laughing and although he won't tell Hazel, they're cute together
"Ugh, I swear I can't even get a date" Hazel looked them
"Stop ruining their fun" Percy said
"Really you too" Hazel rolled her eyes
"You better get ready for the homecoming announcements" Percy then left to grab something to drink when he noticed her
"Annabeth, what a pleasant surprise" Percy greeted her
"What are you doing talking to me, aren't you going to get shunned" Annabeth asked
"Nah, besides I don't really care" Percy shrugged
"Is something wrong with you because not a few days ago, you wouldn't be talking with me" Annabeth told him
"Look, I'm somewhat of a jerk but I'm no Hazel" Percy assured her
"Interesting" Annabeth sipped her drink
"Who are you with" Percy asked
"Frank, just as friends though" Annabeth said
"You don't like anyone" Percy asked
"No one really interests me right now" Annabeth shrugged
"Oh" Percy looked away
Ok, he'll admit it, he liked Annabeth and what she said hurt but he knew it was true, he was a jerk to her friends well more like Blaine
But he was willing to change
"Um well I was with Hazel but I don't know" Percy started before Annabeth finished his thought
"She was getting intolerable"
"How'd you know" Percy was shocked
"I'm kind of observent" Annabeth blushed
"Hm interesting" Percy copied Annabeth's action from earlier
"Shut up" Annabeth playfully pushed his shoulder
"Well its almost time for homecoming announcements, I better go" Percy told her
"Ok, if you win, I'll clap for you" Annabeth said
"Thanks, oh and by the way don't tell Hazel I said this but I hope Quinn wins" Percy told her
"Lips are sealed" Annabeth nodded
Percy smiled at her and went up towards the stage with all the other nominees
"So your homecoming king is...." the pricipal said
Percy looked over at Annabeth who just smiled
"Percy Jackson" the pricipal said
"What" Percy mumbled
Everyone was cheering and Annabeth was clapping just as she promised
And that was only that mattered to Percy
"And you're homecoming queen is..... Quinn Fabray" the pricipal announced
Percy looked over at Hazel who was furious before looking at Quinn who looked happy for winning and lastly at Annabeth who mouthed to him
"Here comes the drama"
