I sing a song about a trio of comrades

Rectangular, plastic and true

When cash has vanished from my wallet,

My three friends always came through

Restaurants, gallerias and theaters

Invited them to tag along wherever I travel

We dined, we shopped and hey that flick was great

Yet soon our friendship began to unravel.

One day three letters arrived in the mailbox

Addressed to me by those monetary musketeers

Opened it, mouth dropped, eyes bugged

May have to search the classifieds for a second career!

I mistakenly assumed we had an unbreakable bond

My buddies would forever be on my side

AMEX, Disco and Cap One what went wrong?

I was the one taken for a ride.

AMEX liked reminding me not to leave home without him

Disco boasted that he was brighter

Cap One inquired on the contents in my wallet

Thanks to those three ex-pals it's a whole lot lighter.
