Everyone wears a mask
We can't see it though.
Our eyes can only see the outside and assume.

Our masks destroy us,
Piece by piece,
Ripping out parts of us that we don't even know.

We're dying
This generation is dying.
How can something so small,
Be so destructive?
Please, tell me
How does it work?

You see that girl?
She makes a good cheerleader
Very pretty
But your eyes don't see her alcoholism and nicotine addiction.

That well educated boy?
His parents force him to study and the amount of stress has left scars on his arm.

Masks don't tell who you are,
But what you want to be.

I'm willing to take off my mask,
And expose the monster inside of me.
