Searching For The Answer

I sat in my seat

Tapping my foot to the constant beat

Playing from iPods secretly in class

I didn't need to worry I already secured a pass

"Questions?" teacher asked turning to the students.

Who would hide their electronics, boy the teacher was stupid.

He didn't hear the giggles or the ridicule or the jokes

But dude there was loud music, and some guy was drinking a coke.

Though as a serious studying girl,

My question one that traveled the world

Came out as a blow.

"What is it sir. What is the thing called Love?"

Many classmates turned, some laughed, some wonder.

The teacher's voice was cold thunder

But I kept my ground waiting

"Gold this is no class on dating.

Now if you want an answer go see him."

So I picked up my things, going out on a limb

I needed the answer. I needed to know

And if the Principal was the only one... I'd ask him toe to toe.

Walking down the hall towards the office

I was forced a stop a boy blocking my way, stood cautious.

"Wanna know what love is? Let me show you"

I creep, how’d he know? "I never asked you."

"Ah fellow student have you not heard,

As a student here, I know word travels faster than a bird.

Twitter, text, blogs, Facebook.

My friend, your question, oh the world it shook."

"Move Jason!" I demanded shoving him away.

"No longer will I waste my time with you and stay.

Find another naive girl who would love to play."

With a huff I began my way to the home of the answer man.

Stepping into his office, Chamber, Lair

I took my seat as he spun his leathery chair.

While Mr. Principle ran his fingers through his hair

"Gold, you are my best student. Why are you being sent down?"

"For asking a question Mr. I neither swore nor frowned.”

"What was this question that you had to ask?"

"What is love; apparently it was not the task."

Sighing the principle stood and came to my side, holding out his hand.

"You will not ask this impossible question again." Was demanded as he helped me stand

"You do not know the answer." I began

"I do but I can't give you a health lesson Gold."

Exploding at his dirty mind I stormed out the door,

"THAT ISN"T LOVE!! UNDETSTAND! "

What was with this world? Did no one have the answer?

This curiosity might help me reach the goal. Like one day I’d become world’s best dancer.

Never to happen, we'd never know.

Research? I would but that’s something I can't do though.

I am yet a young student in her high school.

I am now known as the greatest fool.

In the hall there he stood.

Again blocking my way was Jason who said he could

Who told me he had the answer I was searching for.

And out of curiosity I took his hand and we were out the door.

Alarms went off signally we had ditched.

But did I care like always, nope I had switched.

Why stay in the place where you learned nothing

When there could be another place answering your question.

Like I suspected he took me to his home.

If he tried to teach me what everyone else thought love was, I'd break all his bones.

But to my surprise we sat on the couch.

Dispelling my strongest vouch,

An arm he put around me pulled me close.

As I closed my eyes, then suddenly smelt a rose.

He held the sweet smell up to my nose

Taking it with a smile I leaned into him feeling safer than ever

As his soft voice wafted through the air I hoped he wasn't just being clever.

"Love is, only understood

Can’t be learned at school or in a book"

Jason's heart took a leap clear to my ear when his hand touched my forehead pushing away my hair

"Love, Gold,... is the greatest amount of care."
