Fingers pinch onto shoulder blades.
Like leaches sucking the blood.
Purple and red streaks down my back.
Touching my dress
and filling my hair.
Stop it now, women in white said.
Shaking heads and turning away.
Stacey stayed with me all day.
Lovely thing she is, Stacey.
Lovely as a rose, I said.
Swatting my hands away,
Bring in the jacket, they say.
I try to run I try to scream
But the ladies in white pull me back and
won’t let me play with the kite flying.
