o Chapter One o

A loud cracking noise pierced my ears as blue light quickly blinds me, making me flinch. That's when I watched all of the animals run past me, frowning I change my form with a blink of my eyes and started running in the opposite direction that the animals had.

Running around a tree I skid to a halt while I stared at the other humanoids in front of me. One started to swing his hammer while staring at me - until the green dressed fellow elbowed him. "It's a Wolf Thor. Just a plain Wolf."

I eyed the two guys before they started to walk away, only for me to curiously follow them. "It's follow us Brother." 'Thor' says in annoyance.

"It's probably just curious to what we are." The green one says while I trot next to him, watching the two curiously. "I wonder if it's tamed." I growled at the green one who laughed. "I'm guessign that's a - no. . ." The green dressed guy stared at me with a frown on his brow while my tongue slips out and I stared at him goofily.

Barking I trotted to Thor and bit down on his red cape and tugged it. "What is it Black Wolf? I am on a mission of high importance."

Playfully I tugged his cape again before my ears twitched and I dropped the material and looked to our right. I growl, my ears flattening against my head while my eyes stared at the dark forest in front of us. "What is it? Do you sense something, large Beast?"

"It could be her." The green one suggests.

Who's her?

Then I stop growling and sat on my behind while I happily watched smaller Wolf poke it's head out of the shrubs. It gives a strained bark before he tries to run towards me, only to fall flat on his face. Moving forwards in amusement my jaws grabbed onto the scruff of his neck and I turned to stare at the two men in front of me before I slowly moved forwards and put him on his four paws and nudged him towards the green one - since I don't trust that Thor who held the hammer.

The green one slowly reached downwards and the pup sniffed it before he sneezes. "Loki, we don't have time for this."

"Thor, I'm sure we have time for the Shifter's child." Loki says happily.

I rolled my eyes before I shifted back into my human form. "It's not my pup." I told Loki before I bent down and wrapped my arms around the pup and picked him up. "It's her." Thor yells, making me stare at him curiously.

"Who?"

"Black eyes!" Thor pointed his hammer at me while I stared at him in confusion.

"Yeah, I was born with them. Were you born with that colour hair or did you go to Midgard and dye it?" I questioned, the large pup licked the side of my face with it's rough tongue.

"Prepare to die-"

"Thor, she's holding a child." Loki says, staring at me.

"Actually it's a pup. His mother is ill and is resting in my home."

"Prepare to die!"

My eyes turned to Thor and my eyes narrowed at him who then threw his hammer at me. Instantly I poofed into black smoke before I reappeared behind some tree's while I stared at the two males. I put the pup on the ground and nudged him towards my home.

"Why do you want to kill me?" I questioned out loud. They got into defensive positions while I watched them from behind a tree.

"You have threatened Asgard's All Father-"

"How? I've never left this forest before." That's when the hammer flew towards me. Eyes widening I dropped to the ground and black ink-like smoke started to cover the forest.

"You have threatened the throne-"

"Thor, she's gone." I hear Loki say, just as a arm wrapped around me and a hand was placed over my mouth. "Shh, it's just me." I hear Loki whisper in my ear, causing me to frown and peek around the tree, since I was able to look through my own magic I saw both Thor and Loki.

"Come, she went this way." Loki dragged Thor away and the ink-like smoke disappears and I was forced to turn around and stare into the guys green eyes. "Why does the All Father wanted you gone?"

I shrugged before I melted away into a cloud of ink black and appeared in my home while I stare at the crackling black fire. I hear a whimper and I moved towards the Wolf who laid on my bed, smiling my hands ran through her coat before I picked up the bowl from the bedside table and held it up for her to drink, which she does.

"You should feel better soon, don't worry Denise, you'll be fine soon enough." My fingers dragged through her thick coat before I rubbed my nose, since her fur tickled it, only to spot a black and green vine-like imprint on my back of my hand. "What the. . ."

"I'm no fool and I do actually harness magical properties like yourself."

The mother wolf and her pups started to growl while I turned and stared at Loki who was leaning against my front door. "Are you here to kill me?"

"I'm more curious to as why you're here and why my father wants you dead."

"That makes two of us."

We both stared at one another before he frowns. "Why are your eye pitch black?"

"Why are so curious about a forest girl?" I questioned.

"Well, for one you're a Wolf."

"And. . .?"

"I have a thing for Wolves. I even have a son who is a Wolf."

"That's normal." I mused. "How old is he?"

"A few hundred years."

"Oh." I say, trying not show the shock on my face.

"Now, until I figure out why my father want's to kill you I will keep you under my close eye while I investigate back home."

So. . .You want some stew or some broth?" I questioned. "I don't normally get guests you see, so you will have to give me a heads up before you come to visit."

He stares at me for a moment. "You're an odd one."

"I don't speak to humanoids very often, so a visit would be lovely every once and a while-"

"Well, I have to go kill you now, bye."

"What?" He suddenly disappears and I glanced at the mother Wolf as she gives me a look. "What?" I repeat.

She gives me a amused look before she lays back down on the bed and I chewed my bottom lip. I'm going to investigate on my own, no way in hell I'm going to trust a guy with hair that long. Tucking in the mother Wolf and her pups I slipped out of my home and started to follow the sound of tree's being snapped in half.

Peeking around a tree I watched as some weird looking girl with black eyes get's hit with Thor's hammer. Whoa - hang on a second. Is that me?!

Loki runs forward and embeds a sword into my doppelgangers chest and she hits the ground, dead. I was completely horrified while I stared at Loki, who looked up and sent a wink my way as Thor nudges me with his foot. "Right, let's go home."

"Okay brother." Loki and Thor disappeared in a bright blue light and I'm left to stare at my body on the ground. Moving forwards I bent down and reached down and placed my hand on her - my chest, only for the body to disappear.

"This has defiantly been the oddest day of my life."

'So far.' Rodney barks and stumbled over to me while I rolled my eyes and picked him up.

"Alright, let's go home and put you to bed."

He groaned while I smiled and carried him home before I placed him with his brother and sister before I sat in a large comfortable chair by the warm fire and watched the black flames until I was able to doze off.
