Not So Secret

Lidiya paced back and forth across her bedroom. What kind of arrangement had he made with Steve Newlin? And how was she supposed to help him if she was never left alone? There was no way to do it without getting caught. Suddenly, the realization dawned on her. He's trying to get me caught. She though to herself. That bastard. After everything she'd done for him, he was going to sell her out, let her take the fall. Was this Sookie Stackhouse that much stronger than her? She had to find out. Lidiya was brought out of her thoughts by a knock on her door.

"Come in!" She called and tried to calm herself down. Godric stepped in with his business-face on.

"Lidiya, I need you to come with me to Louisiana," he said. His words came out like an offer, but his tone conveyed his command.

"May I ask what for?" She asked, hoping it was about Sookie.

"It appears my progeny is in need of your...gifts," he said and she nodded.

"Yes, of course. When will we be leaving?" She asked, hoping it was soon.

"Tomorrow evening, right after sunset," he said, his tone ending the conversation. He turned towards the door and Lidiya found herself speaking before her thoughts caught up with her.

"Godric, I've...I've been keeping tabs on the Fellowship," she started, pausing to figure out how she would tell him without giving herself away. "He will be staging some attacks in the next few weeks, if we're leaving, you should warn Isobel," she said.

"You're sure?" He asked.

"Yes. I don't know when specifically, but I know he's made the decision," she nodded.

"I will let her know," he said, his brows furrowing for a moment, then smoothing out again. "Thank you Lidiya," he said and gave her a sincere smile. Butterflies errupted low in her stomach.

"Of course, Master," she blushed, falling right back in to her role.

Godric frowned and nodded before turning to leave. Stunned at his sudden change in mood, Lidiya didn't stop him. What had she done wrong?

***

Lidiya was just falling asleep when she heard her door open. She sat up, surprised to see Godric in her doorway.

"Godric? Is something wrong?" She asked, yawning.

"I'm sorry to wake you, but I had to speak with you," his voice was low and sent a shiver down her spine. She nodded and motioned for him to come in before turning on her bedside lamp. Godric closed her door and was sitting on the edge of her bed before she could blink.

"Lidiya, I believe it will be in your best interest to take some of my blood before we go to Lousiana," he said and Lidiya's eyes widened.

"Are you...are you sure?" She asked. This was a big deal, she knew, for both of them. Vampires didn't give their blood out freely and if she took his blood, they would be connected. He would be able to find her and feel her at all times.

"I know that it might make you uncomfortable, with your relationship with the King, but-" Lidiya cut him off right away.

"The King and I aren't bonded!" She gasped, shuddering at the thought. "I am a tool to him Godric, completely replaceable," she spat, fighting back the angry tears that stung her eyes.

"Then he is a fool," Godric said and lifted his hand to cup her cheek.

"Master I-" she started, ready to confess everything to him, but he cut her off.

"Lidiya please, stop calling me that. At least when we are alone," he said, exasperated. She stared into his eyes for a moment before nodding. He smiled and slowly dropped his hand.

"Do you want to...now?" She asked, her voice coming out at almost a whisper. Godric searched for fear in her eyes, but found none, so he nodded.

Godric, in his enthusiasm, uncerimoniously bit into his wrist and offered it to her. Lidiya covered the wounds with her mouth immediately, not wanting to waste any of his blood, or stain her sheets.

Lidiya had never had vampire blood, but she knew that she had never tasted anything more delicious. It exploded on her tongue and made her skin tingle. His wrist started to heal itself pretty quickly, but Lidiya couldn't control herself as she licked and sucked at it greedily until it did. She looked at Godric, wide-eyed and with a grin on her face.

"Wow, that  was better than chocolate!" She gasped.

Godric quirked an eyebrow at her. Lidiya felt warm all over as she took in his features that seemed to become more pronounced and visible the longer she looked at him. He reached up and swiped his thumb across the corner of her mouth before bringing it to his own and licking the blood away. His fangs were fully extended and Lidiya blushed and unconsciously licked her lips.

"Hey, not much is better than chocolate," she defended, earning a soft chuckle from the gorgeous vampire still sitting on her bed.

"The sun will be rising soon, I will let you get back to sleep," he said and he was gone before she could protest. As if I could now. She thought, though she switched off the lamp and laid back down anyways.

Godric was happy to see his progeny again, even if the circumstances were less than favorable.

Of course he'd known that Lidiya was his King's spy, but after the first few months, she stopped reporting anything of relevance and even began using her abillities to help him and his Nest.

Eric had been furious when he told him about Lidiya, but Godric knew that she wouldn't use her abilites against him, and if she did, he could handle himself. Eric wasn't entirely convinced.

When Eric had told him that the Queen had found another telepath and that she was sending Bill Compton to retrieve her without telling him about it, he knew something wasn't right. He immediately offered to bring Lidiya to him and at first Eric refused.

"We can't trust her Godric. Everyone knows that your King and my Queen are in marraige negotiations, what if this is a trap?"

"Trust me Childe, she will not betray us," he said and explained why he knew this.

The night that Godric had gone to Steve Newlin, he had actually been weak enough that if Lidiya hadn't warned him of the attack, they probably would have succeeded in subdueing him.

"She could have kept silent, Eric, and she didn't. She's helped me more than once, putting more and more risk on herself. I trust her,"

"Well I do not,"

"That is fine my Childe, but you will accept her help. Spy or not, her abilites are invaluable," he said, knowing that Eric could not argue this point.

"Fine, but hurry," he sighed.

"We will leave tomorrow,"

After he spoke with Eric, Godric contemplated giving Lidiya his blood. As far as he could tell, she had not had the King's blood. While Godric trusted Lidiya not to betray him, he had no idea if she'd want to bond with him, and Godric found that he wanted this, almost desparately.

When she offered herself to him after the incident at the Fellowship, Godric couldn't help but allow himself a taste. She had been so sincere, pleading with him, and he was so hungry that her scent overwhelmed him. Afterwards, he found that he craved her blood. He hadn't felt such a pure need since he'd been a newborn, and even then, this was altogether different, more intense.

When she'd taken his blood, it took everything he had not to take her completely. Her body responded to the blood immediately. He could see her the goosebumps break out across her skin, her nipples peak beneath the tank stop that clung to her skin and he could smell her arousal. It was her comment that brought his control back, and he couldn't help but chuckle.

For the first time in a long time he had hope for himself, for his condemned soul, and he prayed to any god that would listen that his faith in her was not misplaced.
