Chapter 11.

It was finally time for the truth to be revealed. I stepped out of the spaceship and the inner monster in me started warming up. I had thought of the handsome dude as my best friend. Now I wished I could punch him.

"Why? WHY? WHY? WHY?!" I shouted at him as I punched him. He stepped back. His nose was bleeding, yet he didn't say anything, he didn't retaliate. I felt bad. He knew nothing. He was helping me. Why was I so angry at him? Oh wait, I was a monster.

But then, so was he.

"Martha, why do you trust me?"

"There's something about you okay?"

He smiled. Oh that killer smile.

"Do you know what this place is?" I asked.

"If I say no, will you punch me?" He smiled.

"Stop smiling! This is my family farmhouse. We used to come here every weekend, before the Betrayal."

"You pass a graveyard EVERY weekend just to come to this place? And I thought my life was creepy!" He smiled again.

Oh right. The graveyard. I had almost forgotten what had been written in the letter. Now I had to place my hands on a dead Viscs head, and now that I knew he loved me, everything seemed awkward! Life was playing games with me, hopefully I would end up victorious.

We both walked along the road, waiting for the graveyard to begin. I was almost shivering. Graveyards weren't my favourites places to go to. Last time I visited, it was because I had lost a very important person. Grandmama.

"Are you okay?" The handsome dude asked.

"Dont like such places." I muttered.

We walked for a few more minutes till we reached the entrance to the graveyard. Memories of that day came rushing back to me. I fought hard to stop the tears creeping out of my eyes.

Grandmama had been my best friend since birth. She was the one in whose arms I never cried. The one who secretly bought me chocolates every time she visited. The only one who never called me stubborn. She was always there to listen to my school problems. She was the one who forged my parents' signatures when I failed my maths tests. She never said no to any demand. Always helped me become a better person. Deep, down inside, I knew she would have saved me from this monstrosity.

Little did I know.

"Do I have to carry you inside?" Handsome dude asked, smiling. Oh that killer smile. I smiled back.

"Naaah, i'll go in myself, haha!" I answered, punching him lightly.

We both walked inside, and the eerie atmosphere sent chills down my spine.

"Oh grandmama. I wish you were alive." I whispered to myself.

After passing a large section of the graveyard, the handsome dude suddenly stopped.

"Hey there, best friend!" He muttered, a tear finding its way out of his eye. How I wished Max hadn't died. Especially not for me.

I went up to the grave and muttered a short prayer.

Handsome dude looked up at me, smiling. 'Thankyou', he mouthed. I just smiled back. It was the least I could do.

We both stood at Maxs grave for a little while, just staring at the tombstone. It read: 'Death is but a great adventure.' How easy was it, for someone to come up with that quote. Only a dead person could justify whether it was true or not.

x------x

"Handsome dude?" I nudged him.

"Hmm?" He said, without looking up.

"The visions?" I asked.

"Is it raining?" He said.

It was drizzling. How come I hadn't noticed that?

Suddenly, lightning struck a nearby tower, and we both shivered.

"You scared of a little lightning?" Handsome boy asked, with a smirk. OMG he had just quoted a line from my all-time favourite movie; The Avengers.

"I'm not overly fond of what follows." I replied. "This is my favourite quote! Marvel all the way! Loki all the way!" I answered, excitedly.

For a moment, I had forgotten what we really were there for. Our fandom craze had just gone up another level. It was like I had found a best friend. I wished it could stay that way forever. But what was about to happen was inevitable. The visions would finally tell me my real story. And as per Max Jrs letter, I was in for a real shocker!

"So the visions! Come on!" Handsome boy said.

"We have no spades or anything. Am I supposed to dig with my hands?" I asked.

Handsome dude looked at me as if I had gone mad.

"What?!" I asked, slightly annoyed.

He took out a little funny looking device from his pocket.

"Did you seriously think you would have to place your hands on Maxs head to hear the visions? Hey, the earth isn't the only planet in the 21st century. We have a research and development sector too! I will place this device over his grave and record all the memories. But theres one issue. Since the device was created through human made machines, it records the message in computer language. Thus, it needs a translator, which was too large to carry, to get the messages in english."

Woah! I felt dumb.

"Where will we get the translator from?" I asked stupidly.

"I take it, your dad owns one?" Handsome dude replied.
