~Meliodas's Pov~

I ended up playing with Elizabeth the rest of that day. She was just the same. She was a very hyperactive child. While we were playing, Merlin would be reading off a long list of people willing to help raise and protect Elizabeth. There was a single couple on that list that stood out to me the most. Two people who were soon to marry and were very rich and powerful. First Princess Margret Liones and Gilthunder. Gilthunder once learnt under me, I knew he had great potential to become a powerful holy knight like his father.

Margret was a kind and sweet soul who matched Elizabeth so much. Both cared for others far more than themselves, they would do anything for the ones they love and aren't scared to speak their mind. Out of everyone Merlin kept saying, my mind would go back to them. Elizabeth would need someone she can trust to talk to, someone who is just like her when it comes to her passion for others and someone who was willing to help her once her memories returned. Not even I knew when that was to happen.

Merlin didn't know and sadly my father didn't seem to tell me when exactly she could trigger her memories. Merlin couldn't help but be impressed with how I could multitask both sorting out Elizabeth's future and playing with her at the same time. Anyone who's looked after children know how hyper and active they are, how they like all the attention, to play and have a very wild imagination. It wasn't the first time this has happened. I had a worried feeling that it wasn't the last. I knew what I had to do.

I knew that Elizabeth wasn't going to be very happy with it when she finally remembered everything but I couldn't let her keep suffering like this. For her to keep dying in painful ways, that makes her hate herself more than anything. She always hated herself for being too weak, for getting this curse placed on her time and time again...she blamed herself for letting it happen. Yes, it caused me great pain to watch it time and time again, being unable to protect the woman I love...but...but it wasn't her fault.

The fault lied with my father and her mother. I couldn't sit around anymore. I couldn't just keep letting them push us to run and hide. Elizabeth wanted to take a stand, she wanted us to go back into the fight to protect other people but now...I'm going to go full out in this war. I'm not going to stop until the war ends, until I kill every single person who dares threaten my Elizabeth ever again. "Shall I ask the two to meet with us tonight?" Merlin then asked while Elizabeth was sitting in my lap playing with a plushie of a white rabbit.

"Yeah, before dinner if best" I answered getting Merlin to stand up. She told Elizabeth she would be back soon with a smile before leaving. Elizabeth didn't even notice her leave. She was giggling every so often making cute noises as if she was talking to the plushie in her hands. I couldn't help but smile and watch. "What's its name?" I asked getting Elizabeth to look up at me. Her blue eyes holding the innocent of a normal child. I planned to keep it that way. Elizabeth's real childhood, her real bringing up was harsh and horrid.

Filled with beatings, tests and abuse from the Goddess Clan. I haven't let her go through that growing up ever since we got the curses placed on us. I made sure when she was reincarnated, that each time, she would have a happy and fulfilling childhood. I made sure that it wasn't anything like the childhoods we both went through all those years ago. "Bun Bun!" Elizabeth nearly shouted lifting up the white rabbit, letting out a loud giggle afterwards. I held back a laugh giving off an 'oh'.

My smile only grew. How couldn't it? Elizabeth nodded giving off a bright smile before hugging the white rabbit. Hawk was going to be jealous at her choice of animal. I waited and played with Elizabeth until Merlin returned. I got up, lifting up Elizabeth getting her to give off a loud 'wee'. Nearly made me and Merlin both laugh and die of cuteness overload. Elizabeth kept her rabbit plushie in her arms while I carried her out the room, following Merlin. Seemed the other Sins had left the area, it was sunset outside.

I knew Ban would want to spend time with Elaine when off duty. King would want to check on his people. Diane would want to check on her clan. Gowther would be bugging someone to try and learn what emotions were. Escanor would be around somewhere in the castle, making sure he was close by Merlin. Elizabeth was looking around the hallways as we were walking. "The war is going to keep us all busy Captain" Merlin pointed out getting me to let out a sigh. I knew she was correct about that.

The Goddess Clan always was the ones to start these wars. I was going to lead the Sins and put a stop to them for good. No more death and suffering to please them. "What's our next target and goal?" Merlin soon asked getting me to start thinking. I knew we had to end this war. I knew that wasn't going to be easy. Our enemy was known to be powerful and somehow live through the worse of times and through the worse of our attacks. "First, I owe Zeldris for helping us. While doing that, we are going to force the Demon Clan to join us in this fight" I then answered.

Merlin looked in utter shock from my answer. I still had that problem in the back of my head. I still heard my father's voice. The cost for the last part of us curses to be cured. Destroying the Supreme Deity. It wasn't going to be easy but if my father wanted her gone, it meant he would be more agreeing to join us in killing that wrench. I just had to somehow get through working with my horrid Clan without killing anyone from it. It wasn't long until Merlin and I went into the Liones' Royal Meeting Room.

Margert and Gilthunder both waiting for us inside. I knew...I knew I could trust them to raise Elizabeth while I stop this war and our curse once and for all.
