She wandered along on the path,
Silent,
hoping that soon
Soon
she would reach the city.
her journey had been Long,
she was tired.
Suddenly,
the forest looked like
No,
It couldn't be ...
But it was!
Thinning up ahead.
She ran,
but tripped
Uncaring,
ran on.
Hope
gave her the strength.
Breathless,
At Last,
she reached the Edge.
Leaning against a tree,
She looked up at the high walls,
Beautiful turquoise,
Like the sea.
the sounds of Life
Escaped from inside
Talking
Laughing
Buying
Bargaining
Eating
LIVING.
She walked forward
Slowly
dreamlike, up to the gates.
