A/N I've put together a short glossary as terms as the characters sometimes slip into their 'mother tongue' which is a version of gaelic, some words will be real, some will be made up, some will be fictional variations. There's a few regularly used words which you'll become familiar with very quickly. I've also included a list of the the characters' gods and their equivalent Norse gods to help you get a feel for the mythology. I'll add to this as necessary.

General:

bana-ghaisgeach - female warrior

ban-laoich - heroine

baobhan sith - a breed of blood drinking unseelie fey

bhampair/bhampairean - vampire/vampires

caidreach - spouse (mo caidreach - my spouse)

comhairle - council

Comhairle-Chlaidheamhan - Council of Swords

daonna - human

ghaisgeach/ghaisgich - warrior/warriors

laochain - little hero

laoich - hero

mo ghaol - my love

taghadair/taghadairean - chooser/choosers

Gods, Goddesses, Their Homes and Helpers:

Baintighearna - Goddess of love, fertility, war and death (equivalent of the Norse Freyja)

Donas - God of mischief (equivalent of the Norse Loki)

Dealradh - God of radiance and beauty (equivalent of the Norse Baldr)

Ifrinn - Hel/Hell

Ràsbàrd - Great Father (equivalent of the Norse Odin)

Taghadair/Taghadairean - The Chooser/Choosers (equivalent of the Norse valkyrie)

Tallamarbh - The Hall of the Dead (equivalent of the Norse Valhalla)

Torrann - God of thunder (equivalent of Norse Thor)
