"I..I can't lose you. We have to stay friends. Our friendship is too important to me. I can't. " he said shakily.
"Kyle.."
"No Brooke, I'm serious. We can't. " I shuddered. I loved hearing my name come out of his mouth.
"Let me finish.." I said while looking at my hands.
"Right. Sorry. "
"Ky. I- I like you so much that it makes my heart hurt.. I don't know where this even came from, but I promise. We will always be friends. No matter what. Forever."
I watched his eyes. They teared.
"Forever" I whispered one more time.
He then put his hand on top of mine, leaned in slowly and kissed me softly.
That was two years ago...
Before anything.
Before his drinking.
Before his cheating.
Before his self harm.
It hurt to know that he was so miserable he had to do things like that.
He thought I was so stupid..
Thought that I didn't know.
I didn't know how to address them.. I couldn't see his heart break when he finds out I know.. I loved him far too much to hurt him...
But is this worth it?
My head was spinning and my heart hurt.

I came home and saw the most beautiful woman I've ever known.
The one I loved.
She looked sad...
So sad..
That made me angry.
What? Why am I angry.
I shouldn't be..
I put the beer can down and walked over to her.
"Hayloww. " I kissed her forehead.
She shrugged me away "You smell like alcohol, Kyle."
Right. She didn't like it when I drank.
"Justa couple of beers. Nothing big"
She sighed. I sat next to her.
"Brookie. What's wrong? The past couple of months you've seemed so... Sad. And depressed. And.. I don't like it. "
She slowly sat up, clutched my wrist softly, rolled up my sleeve and looked down. I looked away in shame.. She had known. All along she had known.
She started to cry..
She cried so hard.
"Brooke.." I started.
But her hand had indicated me to stop.
"W-why?"
I bit my bottom lip "I- I dunno"
She cried harder "Why're you lying?!"
I took a deep breath "I'm sorry, okay? I- I just don't know what to say.."
She looked at me, her makeup smeared and her heart broken.
"The truth would be nice."
And so it began.... The truth.
