He sees the softness of his eyes and it makes him feel warm. Briefly, he wonders if this was how his girlfriends felt.
There was no way that he loved him like that- no, he loved him much more than that, much more than a fleeting need for a body in bed next to his, much more than the flicker of a dying ember. He loved him like the moon loved the stars. Like a fish needs water, they needed each other in this world; they've grown up together and they shall grow old together.
Oh how he loved him.
Taking in the sight of his best friend, his love, so vulnerable, so happy- it was indescribable, the glow that they basked in.
Enough to forget even in that moment that they would have to move on in their day, that the world would still turn and breeze still blow.
