_Last Breaths_

Shallow breathing,

Gasping for breath,

Lungs burning.

As my life begins to drain,

I turn to God and start to pray.

Oh let me live

Just one more day

So I can go back,

And change my ways.

Let me leave

as a new me,

Let my soul fly free

as wind through trees

Don't allow me die

a selfish being,

Stealing from those

who had finally found meaning.

Let me live,

just for one more day

So I can give back

To the ones' lives

I bent out of whack.

Let me leave,

A joyful being,

Telling the world

of the mercy you bring.

Don't make me face

My final day

With troubled thoughts;

Eternity in wait.

Don't make me see

The sin.

Growing on my kin -the greed on their faces,

awaiting a win

from jewels I had wasted.

Let me live,

Just for one more day,

Don't let me leave

As this woman of hate.
