The Hallway

The harsh bright lights illuminated the hallway mirroring the rectangular shape creating an eerie sort of maze feel. I hate walking down this hallway to get home. The smell of damp and pee was evident in the air, making my nose wrinkle in disgust. I’ll be so glad when we move out of this place it’s just scary and downright disgusting. I continue walking down the corridor, it doesn’t usually take me this long to get to the elevator but today the corridor seemed never ending. The lights slowly began to flicker which gave off a buzzing sort of noise, I disregarded it as that usually happens in this rundown place. However, this time every time I walked under a light it seemed to turn off. What the hell is going on. I stepped up my pace a little now speed-walking to get to the elevator but the hallway still seemed never ending and every time I would draw close to the elevator it would get further away plus the lights were rapidly going out. By this point I had started running yet I was getting nowhere and when I looked back I was right back where I started.
