At the edge of the garden,
where your world and mine meet,
I see you sink under the words of flowers
their wispered weight too heavy for your bones.
I beat the wall between us,
but never make it through
so I will sit here and sing you bird songs,
until you fight and paint those roses red.
my dear, even with cruelty from beauty,
you must never
ever
lose your head
