This was an assignment in my seventh-grade history class. I remember only having to make about three, but I decided to go all-out and do ALL of the suggested topics.
If you don't already know, a tanka poem is similar to a haiku. Instead of the syllables in each line being at a 5:7:5 ratio, in a tanka poem, the syllables are at a 5:7:5:7:7 ratio.
These poems are not in the order that they were originally written. I rearranged them so they flowed a bit like a story.
