Full Description: The story of four women whose lives are enmeshed by physical and mental abusive relationships, stemming from husbands, boyfriends, mothers, fathers, as well as step-fathers, and drawn together by one neighborhood called Sugar Hill and one motive—survival.

Characters & Brief Storyline:

There is Jazmine, whose want for love leads her to marry an abusive husband;

There is Amanda, whose lack of self judgment steers her north to south following her boyfriend and becoming addicted to drugs when this quest has no favorable outcome;

There is MaeJean, whose husband locks her in an upstairs room when he suspects her cheating;

and finally, there is Natalia, a child who witnesses death after death of her family and is never loved by her parents.

The search for love, the enchantment of drugs and alcohol, and the idea of faithfulness all play major roles in the outcome of this novel.

There are four sections; each section is setup like a mini version of a novel with briefly written mini chapters. There is a quote incorporated at the beginning of each section that serves as the thesis for that particular character. Moreover, each story ends with this kind of decision-making crisis, a thread of hope or contentment.
