Unrequited Love

An endless maze full of confusion and hesitation.

Will they notice?

Will they care?

Questions that go forever unanswered.

Knowing that if you just stepped up and asked it would all go away.

But the knowledge that everything could dissolve in an instant makes you hesitate.

Looking for hidden meanings in places were there are none.

Forcing laughter and smiling at all the right moments.

Watching and letting them leave as relationships come and go.

Listening to others speak, knowing you have no right to.

Stuck in place,

Never gaining ground,

While the Love you feel,

Burns in your brest,

As you sit,

forced to be content,

with nothing more,

than 'best friends'
