chapter 14: betrayed

Kira's POV

"Hey guys! I'm back! What's with the meeting and the serious expression in your faces?" I said as I walked in the hut
"There's a demon that we should eliminate....." kaede replied
"Well then, let's go....." I said with a cheery voice and then everybody grabbed their weapons and followed kaede
"Do we really have to cross that old hanging bridge?" I asked as I saw the hanging bridge covered with thick fog
"Yes, you should go first....You're lighter than me" lady kaede told me and I then walked first, as I looked back I couldn't see a thing

"Hey guys.....?" I asked
"Fox Magic!" I heard Shippo shout as a large stone appeared and trapped my hand
"What the he'll is happening!" I shouted

Are they killing me? Was I the one kaede told to be eliminated?......

Then a necklace suddenly appeared and landed into my neck
"Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" I screamed as an electrical pain surged into my body
"Hiraikotsu!" Sango yelled and her weapon cut through the rope of the hanging bridge, making it unstable and shaky
"Wind Scar!" Inuyasha attacked then I saw the light from Kagome's arrow and it pierced through my leg
The hanging bridge finally gave up and I was lost in the darkness

Sesshomaru's POV

The smell of flowers.........it couldn't be kira........this flower smells dead.....

I ran as fast as I could and followed the scent of dead flowers....there I saw Kira's body washed up by the river

"Oh no, it's mommy!" Rin cried
"Kira!" I yelled as I grabbed her in my arm

A purifying necklace......she was killed in purpose.......
I also saw the marks from Inuyasha's wind scar, and the sacred arrow on her leg.......how could they do this to their own comrade?.......

Suddenly a surge of power came from my sword, I knew what it meant

"You want to save that girl tenseiga? Well then...." I said before slicing through those demons from the underworld and I removed the necklace from her neck

She then woke up and looked at me in the eye

"Sesshomaru-sama?" She asked
"You're lucky that Lord Sesshomaru saved you!" Jakken told her
"Thank you Sesshomaru-sama........I owe you my life...." kira smiled
"Mommy!" Rin hugged her and cried
"Oh Rin, I've missed you!" She told her
"Mommy, can you manage to stand up?" Rin asked
"I'll try to" kira said as she stood up and fell down on her knees

I immediately rushed after her, and she gave me a weak smile

Later that night, we all settled down in a forest and Rin, Jakken, and Ah-Un were fast asleep, leaving Kira and I the only ones awake

"Sesshomaru-sama, I have to talk to you about something" kira walked to my direction
"What is it?" I asked back, giving her a curious look
"Why did you save me earlier? I'm not worthy to be saved by someone like you..."
"It wasn't me who saved you kira, the tenseiga did" I replied
"They killed me because they knew I was Akira Shiraziko, that bloody demon from the underworld!" She grumbled
"I knew you were" I added
"W..wai..t, ho..w did you?" Kira stuttered
"Akira was a close friend of mine, I knew her very well......You're just like her so I knew you were her reincarnation right from the start, but I also doubted it at first" I answered
"So you're not really planning to kill me?"  She asked
"Why would I when Tenseiga saved you, it would be a waste what tenseiga did for you" I lied
"Hmm....well, I also forgot to thank you the first time we met, you remember that fish? I told you I'd thank you when we meet again.....But I forgot, so thank you for everything...." she smiled and I just gave her a stoic expression
"Sleep" I said as I laid her head on my lap
"Good night Sesshomaru-sama" she said as she yawned
"Good night kira" I replied before drifting to sleep
