"High" is a non-fiction anecdote, based on a real life story and a thousand similar ones.

Being in love is giving everything you are. Like falling off a cliff, not knowing what you will expect further. You deny it at first, not wanting to admit that you are willing to convince your heart to kill itself. Then you see his smile, his eyes crinkle and you fall in love with him again, going into the depths of despair, blind in a house with the knowledge that you're either going to be killed or have eternal happiness.

I was dumb. But my heart was satisfied and I had the best feeling in the world.

And then it happened. I should have known but I was blind, cloaked in the feeling of joy and living happily in a beautiful lie. The heartbreak, your chest heaving from the pain. Your eyes are dry and all you want to do is sleep. But how could someone sleep when flashbacks of winsome memories are filling your mind, none of them helping for you to breathe. You can hear your heart pound in your head, but you can't feel it, emptiness filling your chest

However then you let go. But everybody's doing it in a different way.
