Chapter Three

I was woken up the next morning by the sound of Maci knocking on my door and yelling. “Jasey Rae, Ashton, it’s 1:30 when are you guys getting up?” I heard her ask through my door. “Go away we’ll be up soon,” I yelled back and rested my head on Ash’s chest. “Come on wake up. Do you need anything else?” He asked rubbing my back. “Can you get me some Tylenol? She needs you more than we do,” Luke said and pushed Ashton and I toward the living room. Ashton sat down on the couch and I laid down with my head in his lap. “How are you feeling babe?” He asked me. “A little better. I just need to relax for a little bit. These past couple days have been a little too much for me,” I said. “I understand. We found a place to sit, put a blanket down, and started eating. “So ladies, when do you start teaching?” Ashton asked me and Maci. “Well the school year isn’t over yet since it’s early November so they told us we’re starting at the beginning of the next school year in the last couple days of January. Your school system is so much different here,” I said. “Yeah it really is. Back home we start school in August or September and end in May or June depending on what level of school you’re in,” Maci said. “It’s because the United States and Australia are in different hemispheres so the seasons are different, making the summer holiday before school different,” Luke said. “That’s gonna take a while to get used to,” I said. “I’m pretty sure after your first year you’ll be fine,” Luke said. “Are you excited to be teaching music babe?” Ash asked. “I’m so excited. How long have you been singing?” Luke asked. “Thanks and I’ve been singing basically since I could talk. I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t singing,” I said. “You’re absolutely incredible,” Ashton said. “Thank you,” I said and kissed him. “You need to sing a song with us on our next album,” he said. “What? I can’t do that. That’s insane,” I said. “Ashton, that’s a great idea. Jay, with your voice it would be amazing. It’s not insane at all,” Luke said. “But, why me? We would love your input and if you like it,” Ashton said. “Wow but I must warn you, I suck at songwriting. I tried writing songs when I was like 16 but I hated everything so I stopped,” I said. “Don’t say that babe. Maybe you’ve gotten better since high school,” Ashton said and kissed my forehead. “I hope so. That would be nice,” I said and leaned into his chest. The whole day on the boat was amazing. We had a picnic and the boys sang for us and I joined them on a few songs. By the time the boat finally docked it was six o’clock. We walked from the dock to the car and piled in. “Luke, babe, thank you guys so much. Today was wonderful,” I said and kissed Ashton. “You’re welcome love. Luke, can you let Mike and Calum know we’re staying at the girls’ place again?” Ashton asked. “Yeah it’s no problem,” Luke said and took out his phone. A few minutes later we pulled up to mine and Maci’s flat and we all walked inside. Once inside everyone walked into the living room and I walked into the kitchen to grab a water bottle. “Babe, what are some good Chinese places that do takeout?” I asked Ashton pulling up google on my phone. “I’ve got it babe. I know this amazing place and I’m already calling them,” he said. I told him what I wanted and walked into my room to change into pajamas. I kept my leggings on and changed into Ashton’s shirt. I walked back into the living room and sat on Ashton’s lap. They had put on a movie by the time I walked in. “Food should be here in about 15 to 20 minutes,” Ash said and kissed me. “Ok, I’ll pay for it,” I said. “No babe you don’t have to,” he said. “Babe you’ve already spent a lot of money on me. Let me buy dinner tonight,” I said. “Ok if that’s what you want,” he said and smiled. “Jay I’ll pay half,” Maci said. “Thanks Mace,” I said and leaned back into Ashton. Fifteen minutes later the doorbell rang and Maci and I got up and walked to the door. We paid for dinner and walked back into the kitchen. The boys walked in and we all sat down at the kitchen island. “Wow this is great. It’s almost as good as the Chinese place back home,” I said. “Give it a few months and you’ll be saying this is better than what you had at home,” Luke said and continued to stuff his face. “Luke what time do we start tomorrow?” Ash asked. “11 I think,” Luke said. “Awesome. That means we can sleep until 10,” I said happily. “What am I supposed to do while you guys are gone?” Maci asked. “You’re coming with us. You get to sit and watch us be stupid while attempting to write songs,” Luke said and kissed her. “Ok that sounds fun,” she said and kissed him back. I got up from the table and started looking through the cabinets. “Hey Mace, where did you put the wine?” I asked still searching the cabinets. “It’s in the cabinet next to the pantry,” she said. I grabbed the wine, four glasses, and sat back down. “Just because we’re eating takeout doesn’t mean we can’t be classy,” I said and poured everyone a glass. Ashton cleared his throat and raised his glass. “I would just like to say how happy I am that you two have moved here and how amazing it is to be with such an amazing woman,” he said and kissed me. “Cheers to that,” Luke said and we all raised our glasses. During dinner we all joked and laughed and by the time we were done I was doubled over laughing. “Well we should probably go to sleep. We’ve all got a big day tomorrow,” Luke said and stood up with Maci. “You’re right. Good night guys.
